Notre histoire

Malcolm Greig

Crew

After an international career in Marketing and with children away from home, I stopped working in search of extended travels, more sailing and the ‘adventure before dementia’! In 2018 I crossed the Atlantic from west to east on a leg of the Clipper Round-the-World yacht race and that developed the bug for extended cruising and ocean sailing. Hence my excitement in looking forward to ARC 2025.

In 2023 I completed the Fastnet Race on a Clipper yacht and enjoyed the beer at the finish more than the 42 knots of wind on the nose at the start.

I’m qualified to RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore (shore based) and enjoy cruising my own small gaffer yacht around the Solent and beyond in summer months. In winter my wife and I will find a distant country to explore for a few weeks. Otherwise I like to write a bit and to dabble with an acoustic guitar.

Maria Säilä

Crew

Hey, I’m Maria Säilä, a 23-year-old sailor from Turku, Finland. I’m in my third year at the University of Turku, studying medical technology and health technology.

I’ve been sailing for about ten years, mostly around the Turku Archipelago with my family and friends. It’s something I’m really passionate about, and I’m always looking to improve my skills. I’ve completed the Archipelago Skipper course and am currently working on my Coastal Skipper and CEVNI certifications.

When I’m not out on the water, I like to stay active with CrossFit and golf. CrossFit keeps me strong and energized, while golf is a nice way to unwind and challenge myself in a different way.

Ollie Dalman

Crew

My name is Ollie, I am 18 and live in South Devon. I learnt to sail when I was very young on Oppies and moved into more yacht sailing when I was about 14. From there, I have tried to sail as much as possible, racing every week in the summer, doing as many courses as I can, and always being willing to lend a hand on a friend’s boat.

I am looking to move further into the yachting industry but decided that I would really love to do my first crossing sailing rather than just sitting on a motoring superyacht.
