Hi, my name is Lorenz. I’m 24 years old, live in Germany and am about to start my master’s in Physics.
Boats fascinated me from a young age. I started sailing oppies and later other dinghy boats when I was 8 (and still attend two race weekends every year). About nine years ago, I had the opportunity to participate in a two-week sailing trip in the North Sea. Over the past years, this experience led me to the realization that I find long-distance sailing from A to B far more fascinating, fulfilling and fun than doing circles on a gently moving river or lake. So i made the decision to try and gain some trans ocean sailing experience. Having finished my bachelor’s degrees earlier this year, I found the ARC 25 to be the perfect opportunity to do just that.
