Spice it up in Grenada for Grenada Sailing Week on the Isle of Spice!
Established in 2012 by a group of sailing enthusiasts and marine representatives, Grenada Sailing Week continues the keelboat regatta first organised in 1993 by the Grenada Sailing Festival.
The first GSW event took place in January/February 2013, and since then, it has become firmly established. Participant numbers have grown, courses have been fine-tuned for more challenging racing, classes added to accommodate a wider range of yachts, and venues selected to showcase the best of Grenada.
In 2019, the regatta saw 50 registrations, with over 350 sailors from more than 15 countries. Come aboard and join the excitement and fun as this popular event goes from strength to strength! The regatta features five days of fun and sailing frolics around the island. Four of these days include different races followed by evening parties, while the remaining day is a lay day with activities. Our package includes four days of training.
Grenada is a beautiful island shaped by its intriguing history of South American and European settlements. It boasts rainforests, lakes, waterfalls, mile-long beaches, and fabulous cuisine, both local and international.
The boats will move around with the race schedule, but will likely start at Tyrell Bay Marina in Carriacou, and finish at Camper & Nicholson’s Port Louis Marina, in St George’s.
Closest airport is Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND). Transportation from the airport is available via taxis or local buses. There are regular ferries between Grenada and Carriacou. Flights before and after the race as well as transport from and to the airport are not included in the price and is the responsibility of the passenger. Book your flights only once your seat on the race is fully confirmed.

Please note that while Grenada Sailing Week has been confirm for January 25th to 30th 2026, the full itinerary has not yet been released. The itinerary below is based off previous years and is subject to change.
For all you eager crew members flying into Barbados, join us for the Rum to Spice Race and set sail for the beautiful shores of Grenada. Drop us a line and express your interest in joining this optional race. There is no additional cost if you are participating in Grenada Sailing Week.
This race will start at 16:00. Customs clearance can be very challenging in Barbados, so if you are able to arrive a day or two early, this will help with the process. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee accommodation on board until the start of Rum to Spice unless you are participating in Barbados Sailing Week with us.
Those of you meeting the boats in Carriacou, please plan to meet late in the afternoon. We will update everyone on the boat’s arrival via the crew WhatsApp group.
After arriving in Carriacou and meeting your fellow crew mates, you’ll have a safety briefing from your skipper followed by two days of training and preparations. The will include getting to know your crew, cleaning and organising the boat, and making final preparations for the regatta.
