Race Details

The Transpac (Transpacific Yacht Race) is one of the world’s greatest ocean races, covering 2,225 nautical miles from Point Fermin in Los Angeles to Diamond Head, Honolulu. First run in 1906, this iconic race is a true test of seamanship, strategy, and endurance as crews navigate the challenging Pacific Ocean conditions.

The 2027 edition promises to be another spectacular event, where teams will experience everything from the challenging conditions off the California coast to the exhilarating trade winds that can propel boats to record-breaking speeds towards Hawaii.

Departure & Return Location

– Join the boat in Los Angeles, California for final preparations and training.

– Disembark in Honolulu, Hawaii after race completion and celebrations.

– First Start: July 1, 2027

– Additional Starts: July 3 & 5, 2027 (exact start date for our division TBC)

– Awards Ceremony: July 18, 2027

What to Expect for an SRA Trip

No PassengersAlthough we are happy to provide sight seeing adventures, this experience is an Ocean race. You can expect to be actively involved in sailing the boat, there isn't any rail meat on our boats. Please expect the prep week to be hard work, getting a boat ready to cross an ocean is a huge undertaking, we can't do it without everyone pulling in the same direction, this is also a great opportunity to learn the systems onboard and bond with your fellow crew mates.
Racing across an oceanWe love sailing but for us racing adds that extra something special, working as a team, powered only by the wind, through squalls and becalmed weather, this extra challenge makes the arrival all that more rewarding.
