After a one-year return to Guernsey, Morgan Cup is once again finishing in Dartmouth, bringing this classic offshore race back to the stunning South Devon coast. Organised by the Royal Ocean Racing Club in association with the Royal Thames Yacht Club, the Royal Dart Yacht Club, and the Royal Yacht Squadron, the Morgan Cup remains one of the more distinctive races on the calendar.
Expect a fast-paced offshore race along the English Channel, with tactical tidal decisions and a spectacular finish into the River Dart. A finish into Dartmouth is always memorable, with historic castles guarding the river entrance, rolling green hills, and a lively waterfront creating a fitting backdrop after a night offshore racing.
Crew will join the boat in Hamble
We’ll depart in the afternoon of Saturday with a view to being back in Hamble by Sunday evening. Please note that accommodation onboard once we’re all present can be quite tight.
Depending on the course chosen and the weather we expect to arrive in Hamble in the evening. We hope to have a quick meal together before those who are on a time limit head back home.
Please note that there is a chance of delay. You may not arrive back in Hamble until Monday if weather conditions are not suitable.
Before departure, we kindly ask everyone to help with a general cleaning and tidying of the boat.
