During this unprecedented time of Covid, we are closely monitoring the developments around the world to ensure the Health and Safety of our clients and employees. We aim to provide the best possible service despite the ever changing situation, adhere to local guidelines, run our trips on schedule and encourage all our customers to contact us in case of any concerns.

Cleaning Regime

We are implementing the guidance from the RYA and increasing our cleaning measures to reduce the risk of infection on board. This includes use of hand sanitiser before boarding and leaving the boat and disinfection of the whole boat upon arrival and disembarkation. Once you have arrived at your destination, or while visiting ports, we would normally encourage people to fully embrace the local culture, however at present we strongly encourage you to only socialise within your crew bubble to minimise the risk to the entire boat.

The RYA Guidance can be found here

Please consult your local consulate for further advice

Please be aware that we will adhere to governmental advice related to the destinations of our trips as soon as it’s announced. However you are responsible to check local recommended guidelines and advice from your local consulate or country of residence. This should also include potential stops during your trip not already included in the sailing trip organized by Sail Racing Academy as last minute changes to the schedule may occur. Ensure you understand the risks and guidance they offer before deciding to travel.

Doing what we can to ensure our trips run to schedule

We are experts at adapting and thinking laterally to ensure we deliver what we promise.  We might have to make last minute changes to our schedule especially the European Mile Builders where a change to drop off/ pick up point along the way could occur, potentially resulting in a need for a client to make a land border crossing in order to join the boat. However, we will do our best to avoid this situation and give as much notice as possible.

Cancellation

If we cancel:

We will either offer you an alternative trip or race, book you onto the same trip or race the following year or if neither of those options appeal, offer you a full refund.

If you cancel:

If we are able to get someone else onboard to take your place, then we would only charge the difference in purchase price. However, you could potentially lose your entire fee if we don’t fill the berth.

If you find yourself in a position where you might need to cancel, then we encourage you to get in touch and we will endeavour to do everything we can to resolve the situation.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that you get travel insurance appropriate to the trip and which provides a degree of cover relating to coronavirus. Campbell Irvine Direct Insurance in one such company which covers yachting and has a Covid-19 clause:

  • Cancellation within 14 days of traveling
  • Medical emergencies
  • Repatriation
  • Refusal by an airline to board flights
  • Extra premiums for travel into FCO restricted countries
  • Covers yachting, not just cruising
  • Having to quarantine abroad

However please note that you will need to make your own enquires to ensure the cover meets your expectations.
